The Tat Sae Waterfalls, (or Tad Sae Waterfalls) are a spectacular, roaring cascade of extremely fast moving water that flows into the  Nam Khan River, about 18 kms south east of Luang Prabang.

This beautiful natural wonder situated in the rain forest is at its best during the Monsoon season (June – October), when the immense amount of water flows over limestone rocks, and around trees into the river below, offering some amazing photography opportunities..

To get there you need to travel to the village of Bak En and then take a long tail boat to the falls.

There’s several board walks over the cascades, with a coffee shop situated in the middle, totally surrounded by roaring water. There’s also a small restaurant where you can stop for lunch, along with public toilets.

Well worth the visit.
